The award-winning destination spa Preidlhof, located in the picturesque northern Italian town of Naturno in South Tyrol and a 40-minute drive from Bolzano, has added a range of new offerings to its luxury wellness resort.

Among the updates are two outdoor Garden Spa suites and 12 new resort and spa services designed to enrich guests’ stays. The expanded menu includes thermal water treatments, olive oil tastings and massages, and curated resort excursions. With 71 rooms and suites, Preidlhof has established a strong reputation as a leading holistic, preventative and medical health retreat for adults (16 and over).
The two Garden Spa Suites, nestled in the resort’s Mediterranean Garden amid lavender, olive trees and citrus plants, offer views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Available from March through October, these suites host treatments such as aromatherapy, candle and Hawaiian massages, all intended to calm the mind and renew the body. Each suite opens to the sky and landscape, creating a direct connection to the natural surroundings.

New hydrotherapy offerings draw on the traditional Merano bathing ritual and take place in the resort’s 861-square-foot indoor pool and private whirlpools infused with regenerative bath oil blends. The mineral-rich water comes from a 400-year-old spring near Reinhold Messner Castle, located about three miles away. Guests can also experience water massages in the thermal Infinity Sky Pool, where therapists use continuous aquatic movement to apply pressure and knead the body. The combination of gentle motion, buoyancy and submerged sound creates a deeply relaxing experience.
Medical thermal therapies are paired with new multisensorial treatments in the Transformational Journey Retreat. Based on research into how the brain processes simultaneous sensory input, this creative wellness program guides guests toward inner transformation by heightening sensory awareness and promoting mindful change.

To complement the Italian setting, Preidlhof now offers 46° Parallel Olive Oil tastings. This sensory experience showcases organic olive oils produced along the 46th parallel, a climate regarded as especially suitable for olive cultivation. Guests can combine tastings with a 46° Parallel olive oil massage, an indulgent treatment on the à la carte menu. Both the tastings and the olive oil massages are available in the Garden Spa Suites.
The Full Moon Sound Healing Ritual is held during full moons at 10 p.m. in the Mediterranean Garden. Conducted in near darkness beneath the moon and stars, the session is guided by a therapist’s voice and gentle instrumental sounds to help guests relax and prepare for sleep.

Additional weekly classes and off-property excursions have also been introduced. New activities include forest bathing at nearby Lake Vernago, sunrise hikes around Merano, awakening sessions to align internal rhythm, morning coffee with views of the Dolomites, and specialty yoga classes such as Face Yoga, Laughter Yoga and Sleep Yoga. Guests can join Vespa excursions with gelato and a Naturno tour, take cable-car rides for panoramic mountain views, or visit a family-owned vineyard for a wine tasting.

These new offerings are overseen by Patrizia Bortolin, Preidlhof’s wellness alchemist and spa concept designer. Bortolin’s creative approach and commitment to wellbeing shape the resort’s expanding program, which seeks to balance hedonic wellbeing—joy and pleasure—with eudaimonic wellbeing—meaning and purpose. This integrated philosophy is central to the resort’s wellness approach, known as The Preidlhof Way.
