Janu, whose name means “soul” in Sanskrit, has opened its first hotel in Tokyo, launching what will grow into a collection of 12 properties. Inspired by the heritage of its sister brand Aman, Janu embraces connection as its core concept—where Aman emphasizes sanctuary, Janu centers on people and experiences, a philosophy evident throughout the hotel.

Located in the vibrant new district of Azabudai Hills, Janu Tokyo houses 122 guestrooms and suites alongside eight distinct dining and social venues. The hotel places a strong emphasis on wellness: its expansive 43,000-square-foot spa and fitness center includes one of Tokyo’s largest gyms at 3,659 square feet, five movement studios for classes such as spinning, yoga and golf simulation, plus a thermal area with an 82-foot indoor lap pool and a heated lounge pool.
Two signature Spa Houses accommodate up to four guests each, and the wellness facilities also feature a consultation room, hair and nail salon, and seven private treatment rooms where a range of Janu therapies are offered.

At street level, Janu Tokyo hosts two Aman Essential boutiques—the brand’s first standalone retail locations outside an Aman resort—welcoming both hotel guests and visitors to Azabudai Hills.
Culinary offerings are varied and carefully curated. The hotel features three Italian open-kitchen counters and a dedicated Janu Patisserie. Ligura provides a choice between à la carte and omakase dining in an intimate setting. Janu Grill offers a theatrical show kitchen, two wine cellars and private dining rooms, while Hu Jing focuses on refined Cantonese cuisine. The Janu Lounge and Garden Terrace are ideal for afternoon tea with views of Tokyo Tower, and Janu Bar brings together an elevated cocktail program in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
