IHG this month unveiled the first Kimpton hotel in Edinburgh. The Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel, housed within seven interconnecting townhouses, features nearly 200 guestrooms and 15 suites, combining contemporary comforts with the character of its historic setting.
Formerly operated as the Principal Charlotte Square, the property is one of 12 former Principal and De Vere hotels that have been rebranded as Kimpton. This opening marks IHG’s first branded luxury hotel in Scotland in over a decade. Additional Kimpton locations are planned for Glasgow and Manchester, and an InterContinental property is also planned for Edinburgh.
Guests at Kimpton Charlotte Square can expect the brand’s signature amenities, including in-room yoga mats, complimentary fitness and wellness classes, and a daily social hour designed to encourage relaxed, friendly interaction.
“Kimpton has built its brand on the belief that heartfelt human connections make people’s lives better. We inspire curiosity and embrace people exactly as they are, creating truly meaningful guest experiences. Each Kimpton hotel is an escape from the ordinary, and Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel will offer a vibrant Scottish service full of charm and personality, in one of the world’s most historic cities,” said Johan Scheepers, general manager of Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel.
