Your Business

Essential business philosophy: Listen closely and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Best way to keep a competitive edge: Study successful companies and trends beyond your own industry. Some of the most valuable ideas come from products, services or approaches that seem unrelated to our core business. Translating those lessons into practical, relevant innovations for our company is how we differentiate ourselves and remain competitive.

Yardstick of success: For a family business like ours, success is measured in the quality of our relationships: that family members enjoy working together, love what they do each day and still appreciate each other’s company.

Lindsey Ueberroth as a Traveler

What is the most important item you take when traveling? I always bring Sony noise-canceling headphones, a cozy pashmina, Eminence lip balm and a good paperback. I prefer the tactile pleasure of a real book over an e-reader.

How do you spend your time on board? My time on board is usually divided: about one-third working, one-third enjoying entertainment like a book or a movie, and the remaining third sleeping.

What is your favorite restaurant in the world? That’s impossible to pin down. I’ve loved many restaurants, and often the memory of a meal is shaped as much by the ambiance and company as by the food itself.

What is your favorite destination in the world? India. It’s a destination that elicits strong reactions, but for me it leaves a lasting impression and a deep emotional connection like few other places can.

About Preferred Hotel Group

Tell us about the new iPrefer program. iPrefer is the first global points-based loyalty program designed specifically for guests of independent hotels worldwide. The program offers points, tiered status, tailored special offers and a clear, flexible redemption system. Membership is free, making it accessible to frequent and occasional travelers alike.

Golf is a favorite interest of our readers; why will the Preferred Golf program appeal to them? Preferred Golf showcases a curated collection of the world’s most exclusive and sought-after courses. Members receive priority access and complimentary rounds when staying at participating properties. A standout feature is the Preferred Golf Fantasy Challenge, the first international fantasy golf experience, which lets members compete for exceptional golf getaways — including a grand prize round-the-world trip that celebrates elite courses and unforgettable travel.

Preferred Hotel Group is a family-owned company. How does that translate to the hospitality experience? Hospitality is part of our family heritage, and that perspective shapes how we operate. The heart of hospitality is making guests feel at home, and as a family we extend that mindset to every interaction. We travel frequently to visit properties and teams around the globe, fostering close relationships with clients and colleagues. That hands-on, personal involvement has helped Preferred Hotel Group grow into an extended family committed to delivering genuine, consistent hospitality at every touchpoint.
