Virgin Atlantic Adds Sleep Aids for Better In-Flight Rest

Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with premium British brands de Mamiel and This Works to introduce a two-step aromatherapy kit for Upper Class passengers. The kit is designed to reduce jet lag and help travelers fall asleep and wake up feeling more refreshed and better adjusted to their destination’s time zone.

Passengers in Upper Class will receive a hot towel infused with oils created specifically for Virgin Atlantic by de Mamiel. The airline offers different blends depending on whether the flight is during the day or at night. The daytime blend, called Enliven, combines bergamot, sweet orange and ylang ylang to energize and uplift. For night flights, the High Altitude blend features fragonia, eucalyptus and lavender to promote calm and relaxation.

In addition to the towels, overnight travelers are provided with a deep sleep pillow spray from This Works, a product clinically shown to improve sleep quality and support a more restful night. This two-step approach — inhalation through the infused towel and a topical spray for the pillow — is intended to create a more restorative onboard sleep environment.

Virgin Atlantic has also integrated guided mindfulness content from Headspace into its in-flight entertainment. The Headspace collaboration includes 13 short films that teach techniques to help passengers sleep effectively while flying, and to feel calmer and more focused during the journey.

“We are always looking for ways to make flying an even more fabulous experience, and now customers traveling in Upper Class can benefit from our unique blend of onboard aromatherapies,” said Jill Brady, executive vice president, customer experience, Virgin Atlantic. “We partnered with leading British beauty brands de Mamiel and This Works to provide a two-step aromatherapy kit onboard all Upper Class flights to help customers overcome jetlag and enjoy a deep, relaxing sleep onboard.”
