Sheraton New York Times Square Gym & Fitness Center Upgrades

The Sheraton New York Times Square has completed a $500,000 upgrade to its fitness center, introducing several notable firsts and complimentary services designed to enhance guests’ wellness experiences.

The renovated fitness center now features a team of certified fitness trainers available to guests at no additional charge—a first for a New York City hotel. It also includes the only hotel-based 10-bike Peloton room in the city and the first hotel-specific, customized Central Park running and walking tour developed by Tour Buddy Apps.

“With industry firsts like our team of trainers and Peloton bike room, we are bringing excitement to the hotel fitness experience while taking the guesswork out of working out,” said Dan McCarron, director of hotel sales at the Sheraton New York Times Square. “Hundreds of our business and leisure guests use the fitness center each day, and these new offerings give guests convenient, high-quality options during their stay.”

The facility is open 24 hours a day. Certified trainers are on site to assist guests weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering workout ideas, technique feedback and personalized guidance.

The dedicated Peloton room houses ten bikes and provides guests with 24-hour access to studio cycling content, including live classes and an extensive library of on-demand workouts. The program features multiple daily live classes and an 85-inch screen that broadcasts group rides for a studio-style experience.

Tour Buddy Apps developed a custom mobile app for the hotel that offers six self-guided audio tours of nearby Central Park, located about five blocks from the property. GPS-enabled, the app supports 5K and 10K running or walking routes, with audio commentary that highlights landmarks, history and points of interest along the way. Complementing the app, the hotel hosts a daily 5K group run through Central Park at 8:15 a.m. on weekdays and 11:30 a.m. on weekends.

These additions aim to serve both business and leisure travelers who prioritize fitness and convenience. By combining expert staff support, advanced equipment and curated local routes, the Sheraton’s upgraded fitness center offers a streamlined, hotel-first approach to staying active while visiting New York City.
