Corinthia Hotels Launches First Maldives Resort

Corinthia Hotels has announced plans to open a luxury resort in the Maldives in late 2025. The development will occupy two islands in Kaafu Atoll: a larger island that will host a 73-room resort and a smaller private island reserved for exclusive use. The site is approximately 15 minutes from Malé International Airport, offering convenient access for guests.

“We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Corinthia in the Maldives,” said Simon Naudi, CEO of Corinthia Hotels. “Together with our development partners, we aim to create an architectural statement that engages the senses and complements the natural surroundings.”

The resort’s design is inspired by the marine environment and has been developed in collaboration with international design firm HKS. Architectural elements for the main pavilion and villas take cues from the graceful curves of manta rays, creating fluid forms that blend with the island setting. The resort will include advanced wellness facilities, dedicated fitness spaces, and five restaurants featuring internationally recognized culinary concepts. Site preparation and the first phase of development are already underway.

This Maldives project is part of Corinthia’s broader expansion plan. The company expects additional openings across its pipeline, including properties in New York, Brussels, Rome, Doha, Riyadh, Malta, Bucharest, and Prague. These developments are at various stages of planning and construction as Corinthia extends its luxury resort and hotel portfolio globally.
