Autograph Collection Debuts Luxury Hotel in Toledo

Autograph Collection Hotels has opened its newest property, Eugenia de Montijo, located within the UNESCO World Heritage historic district of Toledo, Spain.

“The hotel’s rich heritage, intimate scale and modern, elegant design create a singular getaway experience,” said John Licence, vice president of premium and select brands, Europe, Marriott International. “We look forward to welcoming guests to Eugenia de Montijo as they discover the unique city of Toledo.”

Housed in the former palace of Empress Eugenia de Montijo, the hotel features 40 guest rooms and two suites. Each room harmonizes the building’s historic character with contemporary finishes, including metallic accents and velvet upholstery. The reception, bar and dining areas showcase soaring ancient coffered ceilings, while a crystal dome crowns the lobby, which is furnished with refined pieces such as small Tiffany-blue tables and plush purple armchairs.

Dining at Eugenia de Montijo is anchored by The Dressing, a light and welcoming breakfast venue, and Mr. Worth Atelier Restaurant, which reimagines the classic Toledo tavern with a modern take on Spanish cuisine.

The property also offers Eugenia’s Bath, the only spa located in Toledo’s historic neighborhood. The spa integrates a steam bath and sauna with remnants of original Roman architecture, providing a restorative experience rooted in the city’s past.

Thanks to its central position, the hotel provides convenient access to many of Toledo’s prime attractions, including the Church of Santo Tomé, the Cristo de la Luz Mosque and the imposing Alcázar fortress. Its combination of historical setting, thoughtful design and modern amenities aims to offer travelers a distinctive base for exploring Toledo’s art, culture and history.
