This spring, The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch will once again burst into bloom. More than 70 million Giant Tecolote ranunculus flowers display a spectrum of colors across a 55-acre setting just north of San Diego along California’s coastal landscape.

“Visitors can’t help but smile here,” said Fred Clarke, general manager of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. “We are, first and foremost, a sustainable working farm, and each spring The Flower Fields invites guests to ‘live colorfully’ amid our rainbow of ranunculus. It’s a privilege to provide a multi-hued backdrop for family outings, romantic dates, proposals and weddings. We look forward to the memories 2023 will bring.”
This year the working flower ranch adds even more reasons to visit. New programming includes a meditation and sound-healing workshop, sunset wine tastings, tea in the garden and Flower Flow Yoga — an hour-long vinyasa-style class overlooking the blooms. Live outdoor music and concerts will showcase local and regional acts such as Bayou Brothers, Bill Magee Blues Band, Sara Petite and Cool Rush.

Additional offerings include hands-on workshops and seasonal experiences: framed botanical art, picnic-and-flowers packages, a Canon photography workshop and a charcuterie class led by Bits & Bites Graze Boards. Special floral presentations include Joyful Flowers by Ikebana Sangetsu West Coast Group, which highlights the traditional Japanese contemplative art of flower arranging using found objects like stones and shells.
The Flower Fields are located at 5704 Paseo Del Norte. For details about concerts, workshops and other events, and to purchase advance tickets, visit the official site for The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch.
