Corinthia Hotels Adds Borgo di Perolla to Its Italian Portfolio

Corinthia Hotels has announced plans to develop, lease and operate a luxury resort in Tuscany: Borgo di Perolla. Nestled in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, the project will restore and repurpose a group of historic buildings to create a refined village-style retreat surrounded by rolling hills. The resort’s location offers easy access to the medieval town of Massa Marittima, the coastal beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala, and nearby thermal springs.

Scheduled to open in 2030, Corinthia Borgo di Perolla will occupy the 13th-century Perolla Estate, an expanse of roughly 1,300 hectares of sustainably managed woodland, olive groves and vineyards. The estate includes historic sites and ancient trails, providing an authentic setting that the resort will emphasize through careful restoration and sensitive design.

“We are delighted to partner with Gaetano Buglisi on a new project that so clearly aligns with our values. As our third property in Italy, Borgo di Perolla, Tuscany marks an important step in strengthening Corinthia’s presence in this wonderful market,” said Simon Naudi, Group CEO of Corinthia Group. “It will be a destination shaped by its environment, its community and its heritage – brought to life through a shared vision of sustainable luxury and meaningful guest experiences.”

The resort concept centers on a lively piazza and a community-oriented layout. It will offer 80 keys, including suites and private villas, alongside a selection of restaurants and guest amenities. Culinary programming will focus on a farm-to-table philosophy, supported by organic cultivation on the estate and locally produced ingredients. Guests can expect dedicated wellness facilities and versatile event spaces, including a restored historic chapel designed for weddings and private celebrations. A branded residential component will complement the hotel offering and broaden the destination’s appeal.

The agreement marks Corinthia’s third Italian property. It follows the opening of Corinthia Rome in March 2026 and precedes the forthcoming Corinthia Lake Como, scheduled to open in 2028. Borgo di Perolla embodies the brand’s commitment to sustainable luxury, regional authenticity and immersive guest experiences, reinforcing Corinthia’s expanding footprint in Italy.
