Luxury Cabins to Rent in Galway, Ireland: Top Coastal & Countryside Stays

Hidden in the heart of Wildlands in Moycullen, Co. Galway, Ireland, are 14 new open‑plan log cabins that opened in February. Run by siblings David and Faye Bohan, the cabins are just a 10‑minute drive from Galway city, offering a blend of rugged countryside charm and modern comforts for guests seeking memorable stays near the west coast.

“We have been working so hard over the past twelve months to deliver what we believe is something special for guests,” said Faye Bohan. “At full capacity we can welcome 72 guests across the 14 cabins, and we are looking forward to a busy season at Wildlands.”

The architecturally designed, detached cabins were built over the last year by local architect Associated Design Ltd. together with regional suppliers and tradespeople. Guests can choose from five cabin types: studio, two‑bedroom, large studio, studio with a kids’ room, and a large accessible cabin, ensuring options for solo travelers, families and groups.

Each cabin features rustic details, exposed rafters and outdoor decks, and no two cabins share the same layout. Interiors use a muted palette — including sage green and ochre — to create a calm, natural atmosphere that complements the surrounding landscape. Long summer evenings in the west of Ireland can be enjoyed on the decks before retreating indoors to comfortable, thoughtfully appointed living spaces.

All cabins include a fully fitted country‑style kitchen with modern appliances, such as Smeg fridge‑freezers and a Nespresso coffee machine with pods, making self‑catering stays simple and convenient. Living areas are equipped with a smart TV and a selection of board games for relaxed evenings. Many units also include roof lights to allow for stargazing on clear nights.

The cabins are located within easy walking distance of Wildlands’ adventure hub and the award‑winning Olive Tree Kitchen. The adventure hub provides outdoor activities for all ages, including forest walks, kayaking, stand‑up paddleboarding and more, while the surrounding area offers scenic drives and hiking. The Connemara mountain ranges are about an hour’s drive away, making the cabins a convenient base for exploring the region’s rugged landscapes and coastal attractions.
