Rittenhouse Hotel Partners with Philadelphia Museum of Art for Exclusive Events

Philadelphia’s The Rittenhouse has announced an exclusive collaboration with the Philadelphia Museum of Art to celebrate the museum’s Mary Cassatt at Work exhibition. Mary Cassatt, a French Impressionist born in Pennsylvania, has deep ties to the property: the hotel stands on land that once belonged to her brother’s estate. The Rittenhouse honors her legacy with spaces and offerings named for her, including the Mary Cassatt Tea Room and the Mary Cassatt Suite, and with displays of her artwork in the hotel lobby.

“The rich history and culture of Philadelphia are the foundation of The Rittenhouse, and our collaboration with the Philadelphia Museum of Art creates a unique opportunity for experiential storytelling,” said Reginald Archambault, general manager of The Rittenhouse. “Through this partnership we can honor Mary Cassatt’s spirit while enhancing the guest experience with thoughtfully curated moments tied to her work.”

Through the end of summer, The Rittenhouse’s restaurants and bars will pay tribute to Cassatt’s legacy with curated food and beverage offerings. The Library Bar is featuring an impressionist-inspired seasonal cocktail menu, where each drink draws on the color palettes and titles of Cassatt’s paintings. Afternoon Tea will include Cassatt’s signature chocolate truffles, prepared from her original recipe, and those truffles will also be offered as a turndown amenity for select guests.

In addition, Lacroix and Scarpetta will offer a special-edition Mural City Cellars Cabernet Franc Rosé labeled Mary Cassatt at Work. A portion of the proceeds from that wine will be donated to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, supporting the exhibition and the museum’s programs.

Guests can choose from curated packages designed to pair hotel stays with the exhibit. The Lasting Impressions package includes accommodations, tickets to the Mary Cassatt at Work exhibition, an in-room tea experience for two, a bottle of the special-edition rosé and a gift bag that contains the signature truffles. The Maternal Kiss package, named for one of Cassatt’s most celebrated works, offers a restorative spa treatment, a poolside lunch and a branded gift to complete the experience.

These offerings reflect The Rittenhouse’s aim to create immersive cultural connections for visitors to Philadelphia, combining historical context, culinary interpretation and exclusive amenities tied to Mary Cassatt’s life and art. Whether visiting for the exhibit or staying at the hotel, guests can expect thoughtful programming and items that honor the artist’s influence on the city and on Impressionist art.
