Transaero Unveils World’s Largest High-Capacity Passenger Jet

Transaero Airlines has finalized the interior design for its Airbus A380, set to join the carrier’s fleet in 2015. With a total capacity of 652 passengers, these A380s will offer the highest seating capacity of any commercial passenger jet in service.

The airline’s first-class Imperial cabin will be located at the front of the aircraft on the lower deck and will include 12 private suites. Each suite features a luxury seat that converts to a full-flat bed in a 1-2-1 layout, providing direct aisle access for every passenger. The first-class area will also include a dedicated bar and a cloakroom for added convenience.

On the upper deck, Transaero’s business class is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration and offers 24 cocoon-style seats that recline to 180-degree flat beds. Business-class passengers will also have access to a bar and cloakroom facilities, ensuring comfort on long-haul flights.

Overall, Transaero’s A380 layout adds more than 100 seats compared with other commercial aircraft currently operating, maximizing the space advantages of the double-deck widebody. “When developing the interior design of our A380s we strived to make full use of the advantages of this type of aircraft,” said Olga Pleshakova, CEO of Transaero Airlines. “I am certain the first A380 aircraft in the Russian market will be very popular among our clients, both on domestic and on international routes.”

Transaero operates a fleet of 98 aircraft serving around 200 domestic and international destinations, and the addition of the A380s is intended to enhance capacity and comfort on key routes.
