InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the upcoming launch of a distinctive, art-filled Kimpton hotel in Amsterdam this spring.
The Kimpton De Witt will mark the brand’s first hotel in Europe. Housed in three original Renaissance-era buildings, it sits close to Amsterdam’s city center, within easy walking distance of Centraal Station and the vibrant Red Light District.
The property will offer 274 guestrooms and 15 signature suites. Dining options include the Wyers Bar and Restaurant, which will serve American-inspired cuisine with Dutch influences, plus a coffee and beignet walk-up window for quick, casual treats. A flower shop on-site will give guests access to fresh blooms, celebrating Amsterdam’s well-known springtime tulips.
A notable and historic feature is the hotel’s “House Within a Hotel”: a four-story residence dating back to the 1500s that served as the childhood home of Dutch playwright P.S. Hooft. This preserved residence adds character and a direct connection to the city’s cultural past.
Positioned as a boutique luxury offering with a strong emphasis on art, local history and thoughtful amenities, the Kimpton De Witt is scheduled to open during the first half of 2017.
