Singapore Airlines will resume service between Singapore (SIN) and Athens (ATH) next year. The carrier, which suspended the route in 2012 after more than 40 years of operations, is bringing it back temporarily to meet peak summer travel demand.
The seasonal service will operate from June 9 through October 9, 2014, with two weekly flights on Mondays and Thursdays using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. Departing Singapore at 2:05 a.m., the flight is scheduled to arrive in Athens at 8:30 a.m. The return leg will depart Athens at 1:00 p.m. and arrive in Singapore at 4:55 a.m. the following day.
This reinstatement is intended to accommodate increased summer travel between Southeast Asia and Greece, offering travelers an additional direct option for the high season. The twice-weekly frequency provides connections for both leisure travelers heading to Athens and onward passengers linking through Singapore.
