United Airlines will begin a second daily non-stop service between San Francisco (SFO) and Hong Kong (HKG) starting Oct. 26, and tickets are now on sale.
The new flight departs San Francisco at around 11:00 p.m. and arrives in Hong Kong at about 6:00 a.m. two days later. The return service leaves Hong Kong at approximately 10:30 p.m. and arrives in the United States at 6:50 p.m. The route will be operated with a Boeing 777-200ER.
“Adding a second daily non-stop flight between San Francisco and Hong Kong gives customers more flexibility and convenience when traveling to one of the world’s major business hubs,” said Patrick Quayle, vice president of international network for United. “This schedule provides convenient departure times and stronger connectivity to United’s broad, expanding network.”
With the addition of this route and others introduced this year, United now serves 29 international destinations from San Francisco, including 14 in Asia and Oceania. United remains the largest carrier at San Francisco International Airport, operating more than 300 daily flights.
