This August, Denver — the Mile High City — will celebrate yoga during the inaugural Denver Yoga Festival, a four-day event filling the city with classes, workshops and community gatherings. The festival runs from August 4 through August 7 and intentionally highlights Denver’s vibrant urban setting rather than a mountain retreat experience.
Pre-festival offerings include professional certification opportunities such as Reiki Certification and Adaptive Yoga Certification, designed for yoga teachers and practitioners advancing their careers. The festival emphasizes accessibility with dedicated classes for participants who use wheelchairs and for people with special needs; scholarship passes are available to help ensure those who require financial assistance can attend.
Families are included, too: an optional free children’s yoga camp — featuring age-appropriate games and music and provided by Flex Yoga+Barre — is available with the purchase of an adult ticket, giving kids a fun introduction to movement and mindfulness while adults enjoy other festival activities.
Festival programming unfolds across the neighborhood around Union Station and at nearby historic venues including the Oxford Hotel. Attendees can expect a diverse lineup of experiences led by respected teachers and community leaders. Highlights include a brunch hosted by Yogini on the Loose, Gina Caputo; Yoga Day at Coors Field; panel discussions examining today’s yoga culture; and a yoga fashion show. Evening events will feature dance parties, while quieter moments include Meditation & Tea Time with Tantra and meditation scholar Dr. Lorin Roche.
Outdoor experiences are a signature part of the weekend: the festival will host a yoga-themed hike at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater, offering a chance to practice in a world-famous natural setting. EMBODY YOU, a workshop focused on body awareness and personal empowerment, provides another opportunity for introspection and growth.
The Denver Yoga Festival blends practical training, community-building events and accessible programming to make yoga welcoming for a wide range of participants — from seasoned teachers to curious beginners and families.
