Raffles Expands Luxury Hotels Across Asia-Pacific

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has recently unveiled two landmark properties—Raffles Shenzhen and Raffles Maldives Meradhoo—and has several additional hotels in development worldwide.

“The Raffles collection now includes 14 properties across 12 countries, with a carefully curated list of distinguished addresses in leading markets around the world,” said Chris Cahill, deputy CEO of Accor Hotels. He highlighted the brand’s long heritage, noting that with a history of more than 130 years, Raffles is in the midst of a strong revival. A significant pipeline is planned, with another eight to ten hotels expected to join the portfolio over the coming years.

Among the upcoming openings, Raffles Udaipur will be the brand’s first hotel in India and is scheduled to open next year. The property will feature more than 100 guestrooms and its own private island, offering a distinctive luxury destination in the region. Also slated for 2021 is Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences, which occupies a newly built 33-story tower and combines nearly 150 guestrooms with approximately 150 private residences. Raffles The Palm Dubai is set to open in 2021 as well, taking its place as the tallest structure on Palm Jumeirah. In 2022, the brand plans to introduce Raffles Jaipur, a more intimate property with 55 guestrooms.

“The next few years will be very exciting for our guests and global ambassadors as we continue to expand our illustrious hotel collection, bringing Raffles to the most fascinating, attractive and culturally rich regions of the world,” said Jeannette Ho, vice president of Raffles Brand & Strategic Partnerships. The brand’s expansion emphasizes carefully chosen locations and a blend of heritage and contemporary luxury that aims to appeal to discerning travelers seeking unique, culturally resonant experiences.

With these openings and planned launches, Raffles is positioning itself to reach new markets while preserving the signature service and refined atmosphere that define the brand. Each new property is designed to reflect its local context—combining iconic Raffles hospitality with architectural and cultural elements distinctive to the destination—ensuring a consistent standard of excellence alongside local authenticity.
