The first UFO-themed hotel in the United States is coming to California. The $30 million project in Baker, Calif., led by entrepreneur Luis Ramallo—owner of Baker’s Alien Fresh Jerky—will feature 31 guestrooms over two floors in a building designed to resemble a full-scale alien spacecraft. Guests will stay in rooms decorated with extraterrestrial motifs and dine in an alien-themed restaurant.
Ramallo said, “We are tremendously excited about developing the first authentic UFO Hotel in the world, not just in America. There are tens of millions of sci-fi and UFO fans in the world who have been dreaming of a venue just like this.”
Currently in pre-construction development, the UFO Hotel will include an alien-themed lobby, a spa, and a nightclub. Staff uniforms and special events will follow the same imaginative concept, and the hotel plans to host themed occasions such as sci-fi style weddings. The design aims to create a fully immersive experience from arrival to check-out, appealing to fans of science fiction, pop-culture tourism, and novelty travel.
With 31 uniquely designed guestrooms, the property intends to balance themed environments with comfort and modern amenities. Each room will reflect the overall spacecraft aesthetic while offering practical features guests expect from a boutique hotel—comfortable bedding, climate control, private bathrooms, and contemporary technology. The dining area will continue the narrative with a menu and decor meant to reinforce the extraterrestrial atmosphere, providing visitors a cohesive and memorable visit.
Beyond accommodations and dining, planned public spaces like the lobby and nightclub are designed to be social hubs where guests and visitors can gather, take photos, and participate in live entertainment tied to the UFO concept. The spa will offer relaxation services in a setting that complements the property’s otherworldly theme. Together, these elements aim to position the hotel as both a destination for overnight stays and a year-round attraction for travelers passing through the region.
By centering the project in Baker, a community already known for quirky roadside attractions and tourist stops, the hotel seeks to build on existing interest while drawing new visitors specifically for the themed experience. The developer’s background with a popular local business gives the project a grounded connection to the area’s tourism scene and an existing audience of curious travelers.
As the property progresses through pre-construction, further details about timelines, booking availability, and event offerings will likely be announced. For now, the concept emphasizes immersive design, themed hospitality services, and specialized events that cater to fans of science fiction and novelty travel, while aiming to deliver the comfort and convenience expected from a modern boutique hotel.
