Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica is set to open on Oct. 14 as Dominica’s first five-star resort. The second Kempinski property in the Caribbean, the resort is located within Cabrits National Park and promises a peaceful retreat on an island renowned for its natural beauty and relatively low visitor numbers.
The design of the resort’s more than 150 guestrooms and suites draws inspiration from Dominica’s landscapes. Interiors emphasize coastal colors, wood accents and abundant natural light, with many rooms offering views of rainforest, mountains and ocean. Accommodations range from well-appointed rooms to two-bedroom duplexes and villas. The presidential villa includes two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a dining room, a private spa room and sauna, an oversized terrace, a private pool and a separate entrance for added privacy.
Dining options focus on fresh, local ingredients across three venues. Cabrits Market operates as a resort-style buffet with varied stations. Kweyol Beach Cafe is a Creole-inspired beach bar serving casual fare, while Bonsai offers Pan-Asian dishes crafted with regional produce and flavors.
The resort’s spa covers 18,000 square feet and delivers treatments that incorporate local traditions and ingredients, aiming to blend wellness with a sense of place.
“Bringing this project to fruition is another remarkable milestone for Kempinski Hotels,” said Michael Schoonewagen, general manager, Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica. “We are especially proud of this property because it will give travelers the chance to experience Dominica like never before by bringing together the timeless opulence of Kempinski with the destination’s pristine, untouched landscape to create a transcendent experience where luxury meets nature.”
