Arrival/Check-In: A friend and I booked a wine-and-cheese pairing at Eataly on an autumn Friday and turned it into an overnight getaway. The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel proved an ideal choice.
After a late-morning train from Pennsylvania and a short cab ride to the centrally located property, we arrived at the busy lobby. Because we were early, our rooms weren’t ready, so we stored our luggage and headed out for lunch and an afternoon at the Museum of Modern Art. When we returned later that day, the room was prepared. I completed the check-in while my friend collected our bags, and within minutes we were settled.
Guest Quarters: Our double room had two beds separated by a large nightstand with built-in electrical outlets—an especially convenient feature. To the left of the entrance was the bathroom, equipped with a tub/shower, toilet and vanity. The in-room amenities impressed me, including a mini loofah, a thoughtful touch I hadn’t expected. The space easily accommodated two people, allowing us to spread out and get ready without feeling crowded. Additional furnishings included a dresser, a wall-mounted television and a small cocktail table with two chairs.
The room also granted access to the 44th-floor Sheraton Club Lounge, which provided private seating, city views, Starbucks-style coffee drinks and snacks throughout the day. We enjoyed complimentary WiFi and a full breakfast service there as well.
Notably, despite the hotel’s prime Times Square location, our room was quiet, and we both slept well—an important perk given the usual bustle of the area.
Services/Amenities: My one-night stay limited how much I could explore, but the hotel offers a wide range of amenities for longer visits. The fitness center features modern equipment and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Dining options on-site include Hudson Market for all-day offerings, Hudson Market Bistro for dinner, Link@Sheraton Café, the Lobby Lounge & Library Bar, and room service. The hotel has also recently renovated its generous meeting and event spaces.
The Experience: For visitors who want to be in the heart of Manhattan, the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel delivers a comfortable, well-located stay. It blends a central address with surprisingly peaceful rooms and thoughtful guest services, making it a convenient base for exploring the city.
