Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio added two new hotels in Florida last week, expanding its collection of independent-minded properties.
The Dalmar opened in downtown Fort Lauderdale, featuring more than 200 guestrooms, including 33 suites. The design embraces South Florida’s tropical palette with bright colors and playful touches. Many rooms offer ocean views, and the hotel’s sixth-floor sky deck provides panoramic vistas of the city and coastline. The Dalmar’s location places guests within easy reach of Fort Lauderdale’s dining, waterfront attractions and cultural scene.
“We are thrilled to debut a Tribute Portfolio hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, a city driven by a creative energy that lends inspiration at every corner,” said Jennifer Connell, vice president of brand marketing and management for Tribute Portfolio. “We believe in seizing the moment to experience something new, to grow and expand, and we are excited to connect the community with our indie-spirited design, sincere service and vibrant social scene.”
Also joining the brand is The Sarasota Modern, located in downtown Sarasota’s Rosemary District. The hotel offers nearly 100 guestrooms that emphasize outdoor living—many rooms include private outdoor tubs and large windows that bring natural light and views into the space. The Sarasota Modern’s aesthetic leans toward eco-friendly materials and clean, modern lines, with abundant plantings and natural wood accents that create a calm, coastal atmosphere. On-site amenities include two pools and a full-service spa, catering to guests seeking relaxation and local flavor.
“Our guests crave the real deal when they are traveling, from the people they meet to the design and ambiance that surround them,” Connell added. “With its energetic vibe and dynamic social spaces, The Sarasota Modern will not disappoint as the way to experience the gulf like a local.”
Both openings reflect Tribute Portfolio’s focus on distinctive, locally inspired hotels that deliver authentic experiences through thoughtful design, social programming and community engagement. The Dalmar highlights Fort Lauderdale’s vibrant, colorful seaside character and offers urban convenience with coastal views, while The Sarasota Modern emphasizes a quieter, nature-forward stay close to the Gulf of Mexico. Together, these properties broaden Tribute Portfolio’s presence in Florida and give travelers new options for boutique-style stays in two popular destinations.
Guests at each property can expect a mix of modern comforts and locally influenced touches—artwork, food and beverage concepts, and public spaces designed for socializing and relaxation. These openings reinforce the brand’s strategy of curating independent-spirited hotels that feel integrated with their neighborhoods while maintaining consistent standards of service and amenities for travelers seeking unique, memorable stays.
