Dr. Chia-Juch Chang — Chairman of China Airlines

WHAT ARE CHINA AIRLINES’ INITIATIVES TO ANSWER THE NEEDS OF U.S. BUSINESS TRAVELERS?

China Airlines is Taiwan’s largest carrier, operating 224 daily flights from Taiwan to 80 destinations across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and Europe. As the leader in cross-strait services, the airline serves 20 cities in Mainland China and partners with U.S. carriers through seamless interline agreements to connect passengers to destinations across North America.

Rooted in Chinese tradition and Taiwan’s culture of hospitality, China Airlines has delivered customer service excellence for more than five decades. To enhance the travel experience, the airline introduced the “10 New Services” program, which includes upgraded amenities and a turndown service for first-class passengers.

All passengers benefit from Panasonic Avionics’ exConnect in-flight entertainment system, offering high-quality audio, games and a broad selection of films. The entertainment library features about 101 movies spanning new Hollywood releases, classics, Asian and European cinema, and family titles to meet diverse passenger preferences.

Onboard dining highlights signature dishes created in collaboration with notable restaurants. First- and business-class passengers on transpacific flights from Taipei enjoy award-winning bread from Taiwanese baker Wu Pao-Chun, winner of the 2010 Masters de la Boulangerie in France. Selected first-class routes, including Taipei–Los Angeles, Taipei–San Francisco and Taipei–Bangkok, also offer desserts crafted by Michelin-starred Tokyo chef Albert Tse.

DESCRIBE CHINA AIRLINES’ NEW BUSINESS CLASS.

A $100 million cabin retrofit upgraded the Boeing 747-400 fleet with ergonomic new seats and an advanced video system. The cabin interior—seat covers, carpets and curtains—reflects a refreshed plum blossom color scheme aligned with the airline’s brand. Business-class passengers experience greater privacy and comfort through increased seat space, redesigned lavatories, improved ceiling and baggage compartment finishes, and dedicated amenities such as a library and a welcoming bar. Enhanced bedding, including new duvets, further elevates onboard comfort.
