EL AL Israel Airlines has unveiled a refreshed business-class menu for flights departing from Israel, crafted by chef Shahaf Shabtay.
The updated selection offers a variety of starters, such as grilled artichoke with chimichurri and Romanian-style zucchini. Main courses include a slow-cooked three-hour asado, spring chicken with bulgur in a red-wine sauce, tilapia, a fish fillet wrapped in kadaif, and “cooky bag” spring chicken—chicken gently roasted in a cooking bag to retain moisture and flavor. Dessert choices have been expanded as well, featuring options like a chocolate and hazelnut tartlet, a pistachio caramel crunch brownie, and a pistachio macaroon.
On board, the airline serves a selection of Israeli wines, including Blanc de Blancs Yarden Golan Heights Winery 2010, Sauvignon Blanc Galil Mountains 2017, and Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve ‘Kerem Lebanon’ Recanati Winery 2016, chosen to complement the new menu.
“The inauguration of the business-class menu is part of the strategic process intended to improve both service and product on our flights. The new menus were planned to provide our passengers with a diverse international culinary experience of the highest caliber,” said Amir Rogovski, vice president, customers and service at EL AL Israel Airlines.
EL AL has signaled broader plans to elevate its culinary offerings across all travel classes as part of a new food strategy, though additional specifics and rollout timelines have not yet been disclosed.
