Discover Peruvian Flavors Aboard LATAM (Formerly LAN Airlines)

LAN Peru is enhancing its in-flight offering by introducing Peruvian-inspired cuisine on select long-haul routes, giving passengers a chance to experience authentic flavors while flying at 30,000 feet.

The carrier, part of LATAM Airlines Group, currently serves these dishes on flights from Lima (LIM) to Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK) and Madrid (MAD).

Passengers on these routes can sample a range of traditional Peruvian specialties, including causa limeña, ají de gallina, papas a la huancaína, arroz a la chiclayana con pollo y salsa de seco and arroz chaufa accompanied by breaded chicken in a peach sauce.

“We are proud to serve world renowned Peruvian cuisine to our local and visiting passengers that fly LAN Peru,” said José Raul Vargas, in-flight service director, LAN Peru.

This initiative is part of the airline’s broader testing program to refine and improve its onboard dining options. LAN Peru will evaluate customer feedback and operational results to decide whether these Peruvian dishes should become a permanent part of future menus.

In addition to the in-flight rollout, LAN Peru is supporting Peru’s culinary and cultural heritage as the official airline of the Mistura International Food Festival, held in Lima from Sept. 3–13.

By showcasing regional recipes and traditional preparations, the airline aims to offer travelers a richer, more authentic travel experience while highlighting the diversity and quality of Peruvian cuisine. The trial menu allows the carrier to gauge passenger response and make adjustments that balance taste, presentation and practicality for inflight service.

Travelers interested in trying these new offerings should look for the Peruvian-inspired menu on the specified international routes and provide feedback during their flight. Based on passenger reactions and practical considerations, LAN Peru may expand the program to additional routes or incorporate selected dishes into its regular catering lineup.

Overall, this culinary initiative reinforces the airline’s commitment to enhancing passenger satisfaction through thoughtfully curated dining options that reflect the flavors and traditions of Peru.
