Westin Hotel Opens in Mauritius — What Guests Can Expect

Starwood Hotels & Resorts is expanding its Westin Hotels & Resorts brand with a new property on the island of Mauritius. The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa will open in the historic Turtle Bay of Balaclava — once the breeding grounds of the Mauritian green sea turtle — and is scheduled to welcome guests in the spring.

Set on the Indian Ocean coastline, the resort will feature 190 guestrooms, including 38 suites, all equipped with modern in-room technology and Westin’s signature amenities such as the Heavenly Bed, along with luxurious shower and robe offerings. Dining options will include five venues: an all-day restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a poolside restaurant and a lobby lounge, providing a range of culinary experiences to suit different tastes and occasions.

For relaxation and recreation, The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa will offer a full-service spa, two swimming pools and a fitness center. The property is designed to serve both leisure travelers and business guests, with a ballroom, two meeting rooms and a fully equipped business center to accommodate events, conferences and social gatherings.

This opening strengthens Starwood’s presence on the island, where the company already operates The St. Regis Mauritius and Le Méridien Ile Maurice. The new Westin property aims to blend coastal charm and contemporary comforts, appealing to visitors seeking wellness-focused amenities and memorable oceanfront stays.
