Stay at Fairmont Dallas: Luxury Hotel in Downtown Dallas

Arrival/Check-In: Arriving directly from the airport, my colleague and I had no trouble locating the brightly lit and easily visible Fairmont Dallas. We pulled up to the main entrance, and a valet took our rental car within minutes. At the check-in desk two attendants handled our registration together. It took about five minutes total, and we were soon heading to our rooms.

Guest Quarters: I stayed in one of the Fairmont suites and was struck by how spacious it felt. The suite opened to a large living room with leather chairs, a coffee table, a queen-sized sofa bed, a sizable desk area, a television, and a dining table with seating for four. The bedroom featured a luxurious king-sized bed, a comfortable sitting chair, a flat-screen TV and another desk. The desk had easy access to outlets and plenty of workspace, which I appreciated as a business traveler. The marble bathroom was smaller than the other rooms but functional and well-appointed for my needs.

Services/Amenities: Located in the core of the Downtown Dallas Arts District, Fairmont Dallas reflects the neighborhood through its tasteful artwork and décor. Although my stay lasted just one night, the hotel’s dining options impressed me. I ordered late-night room service upon arrival; the meal arrived promptly, was well-presented and served hot.

Before a full day of meetings, my colleague and I had breakfast at the hotel’s Pyramid Restaurant & Bar. The server was friendly and offered menu recommendations, including the signature French toast stuffed with caramelized banana, Nutella and a Frosted Flake crunch. I chose a lighter Californian egg-white omelet, which was very satisfying. For those who prefer a more indulgent breakfast, the hotel’s fitness facilities make it easy to balance a sweet meal: a fully equipped fitness center with quality cardio and strength machines, free weights and stretching space, plus a junior Olympic rooftop pool. The rooftop pool provides attractive views of Downtown Dallas and sits alongside a cultivated garden. The hotel’s head chef uses that garden to grow vegetables and herbs, contributing fresh, local ingredients to the restaurants’ dishes.

The Experience: Even though my stay was brief, the overall experience was positive. Opened in 1969, Fairmont Dallas combines a classic, comfortable ambiance with attentive service. From valet and doormen to front desk staff and dining servers, the team was courteous and helpful. The property met my needs for business travel, and I would gladly return for leisure in the future.
