Raffles Hotel Singapore introduces a first-of-its-kind virtual interactive play, The Curious Case of the Missing Peranakan Treasure. Debuting on April 1, this whodunit is available to audiences worldwide as well as to guests visiting the hotel.
The story centers on a detective investigating the disappearance of a Peranakan treasure from the fictional “Treasures of the Straits” exhibition held at Raffles Hotel Singapore. Presented in an interactive virtual format, the production lets viewers navigate the hotel’s historic grounds and collect clues to piece together the mystery. Filmed entirely on location using 360-degree virtual reality cameras, the play delivers an immersive experience enhanced by augmented reality and choice-driven elements.
“Through this immersive virtual experience, our guests will be able to appreciate the Grand Dame in a new light, watch as history and mystery collide, and revel in the hotel’s culture and heritage – no matter where they are,” said Christian Westbeld, general manager, Raffles Hotel Singapore.
Participants who successfully solve the mystery will receive rewards such as e-vouchers for the Raffles Boutique and will be entered into a draw for a grand prize: a one-night stay in the Palm Court suite with breakfast for two.
