Hilton Worldwide Extends Lead in Global Hotel Industry

Hilton Worldwide maintained its position as the world’s largest and fastest-growing hospitality company last year, driven by a record development pipeline, the introduction of new brands and industry-leading digital innovations. In 2014 the company added more than 36,000 guestrooms across 28 countries and territories.

Hilton’s global construction pipeline represented 18.7 percent of the industry’s total rooms under construction. During 2014 the pipeline expanded by approximately 35,000 guestrooms and now comprises more than 1,350 hotels—roughly 230,000 guestrooms—in 79 countries and territories.

“Our goal is to serve our guests anywhere in the world, for any lodging need they have,” said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Worldwide. “This success is reflected in our unprecedented growth and the development of new hotels across the globe, the launch of category-defining brands that owners and guests prefer, the rollout of cutting-edge digital capabilities and continued advancement of our corporate responsibility initiatives.”

Among the new brands are Curio – A Collection by Hilton, which already has five hotels signed to open, and Canopy by Hilton, which has secured 11 letters of intent and is scheduled to open its first hotel later this year.

Hilton’s expansion strategy focuses on offering diverse lodging options that meet varying guest preferences while providing owners with attractive development and management opportunities. The company’s broad brand portfolio spans luxury, full-service, focused-service and extended-stay segments, enabling growth in both mature and emerging markets.

Innovation remains central to Hilton’s approach, with investments in digital tools designed to enhance the guest experience and streamline operations. These technology initiatives aim to improve booking convenience, personalize stays and increase operational efficiency across Hilton’s global estate.

Hilton also emphasizes sustainable development and community engagement as part of its corporate responsibility commitments. The company integrates environmental best practices into new construction and operations and supports local communities through employment, training and charitable programs tied to hotel openings and ongoing operations.

By combining a substantial development pipeline, fresh brand introductions and continuous digital and sustainability investments, Hilton Worldwide seeks to expand its global footprint while maintaining a consistent, high-quality experience for guests and strong returns for owners.
