In Terminal 2 of San Francisco International Airport sits the newly opened Maple Leaf Lounge, Air Canada’s first lounge at SFO. This location marks the airline’s 28th lounge worldwide and its third in the United States, and it is Air Canada’s first lounge to include an outdoor terrace.

Featuring 165 seats across more than 8,000 square feet, the lounge serves as a comfortable retreat for travelers connecting between California and Canada or continuing on to Europe, Asia, or Australia via Air Canada’s hubs. Guests enter through e-gates and biometric identification for a seamless, hands-free arrival. The lounge provides 135 indoor seats and 30 outdoor seats on the terrace, allowing visitors to enjoy San Francisco’s mild climate and fresh air before departure.
Design and décor pay tribute to coastal Californian culture, with selections in furniture, finishes, and food and beverage offerings that highlight local makers and flavors. A neutral palette of grays, whites, and browns creates a calming atmosphere and draws attention to the expansive windows along the left wall that lead to the terrace. Interior walls and the exterior terrace feature artwork by Canadian painter Shawn Evans and muralist Amos Goldbaum, adding a distinctive visual character.

The outdoor terrace is a defining feature that sets this lounge apart from many airport lounges globally. A large mural celebrating San Francisco complements glass paneling, Adirondack chairs, throw blankets, tables, and two vapor fireplaces. From the terrace, guests can watch aircraft movements while enjoying sunshine and fresh air in a relaxed setting.
Food and beverage offerings emphasize premium and local flavors. A self-serve hot and cold buffet presents regional selections, while a staffed bar offers wines sourced from Canada and California, local craft beers, curated cocktails, and espresso. Among the unique menu items is a seafood offering inspired by the city’s culinary heritage: San Francisco-style cioppino, which pairs well with beers from Sierra Nevada or Anchor Brewing.
For added convenience and comfort, the Maple Leaf Lounge includes shower facilities with heated towel racks, individual workstations, private meeting rooms, and a VIP room that accommodates up to 10 people. These amenities support both leisure travelers and those needing a productive, quiet space before their flight.
