The Recaro Aircraft Seating CL3710 entered service on March 31, when Etihad Airways’ new Airbus A350-1000 took its inaugural flight. Although designed for economy class, the CL3710 is well suited for long-haul travel and was recognized with a 2019 Crystal Cabin Award for its comfort-focused design improvements.

The CL3710 features a 13.3-inch high-definition inflight entertainment screen, integrated USB charging ports and a holder for personal electronic devices. Etihad requested its signature fixed-wing headrest be integrated into the seat, providing adaptable neck and head support for passengers of varying heights. Built with lightweight materials, the seat contributes to lower fuel consumption and reduced in-flight carbon emissions, supporting airline sustainability goals.
“We are delighted to revitalize our partnership with Etihad Airways, and it’s an honor for our seats to be flying on Etihad’s A350-1000,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating. “Etihad and Recaro have a history of successful collaboration, and we look forward to this renewed, long-term relationship.”

Etihad initially deployed the A350-1000s with CL3710 seats on short- and medium-haul routes and plans to expand their use to long-haul services this summer. The rollout supports a consistent passenger experience across the carrier’s network while allowing the airline to benefit from seats that are both comfortable and economical to maintain.
“Selecting Recaro for the economy cabin of our A350 fleet reinforces our commitment to offering the best possible comfort for our guests,” said Terry Daly, executive director of guest experience, brand and marketing at Etihad Airways. “The Recaro seats are reliable and require minimal maintenance, which helps us deliver a consistently exceptional travel experience.”
