Qatar’s Ongoing Expansion: New Projects, Investments, and Plans

Qatar Airways has further expanded its fleet with the delivery of three new aircraft in a single day. The arrivals—two Boeing 787 Dreamliners and one Boeing 777—bring the airline’s total fleet to 129 passenger and cargo aircraft. Delivered to its hub at the modern Hamad International Airport, the new additions increase Qatar’s fleet to 17 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 37 Boeing 777s, which include a mix of 777-300ER and 777-200LR models.

“We are very happy to receive three more of our most popular aircraft from Boeing all on the same day, reinforcing the fact that this is the ‘year of the fleet,’” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways. “The addition of the two 787s and one 777 helps us maintain our commitment to offering passengers a highly comfortable travel experience. We value our close collaboration with Boeing to ensure our aircraft deliver the best possible onboard experience.”

Recognized as one of the fastest-growing carriers with one of the youngest fleets in the industry, Qatar Airways serves 145 strategic business and leisure destinations across six continents. The continued fleet expansion supports the airline’s network growth and its efforts to enhance passenger comfort and operational efficiency worldwide.
