Renowned tenor Alfredo Kraus is being honored on his native Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, from February 19 to June 8 as part of the annual Alfredo Kraus Opera Festival. Staged at the elegant Teatro Pérez Galdós, the festival presents a varied program that includes new productions and premieres alongside celebrated Spanish and international artists.

Also this month, the European Theatre Fair for Children takes place February 17–22 in Gijón. While the performances are designed to delight young audiences, the festival offers plenty for the whole family, with shows staged across the city’s theaters. The program focuses on new works and includes lectures, exhibitions and educational activities that expand the theatrical experience.

In Lleida, the International Animated Film Festival runs February 21–24 with screenings across the city, including at the Principal Theatre. The festival pairs film showings with workshops, presentations and alternative events that highlight the range of animation. For documentary lovers, the Point of View — Navarre International Festival of Documentary Cinema — will be held in Pamplona March 11–16, featuring short and feature-length films, retrospectives, tributes and training sessions.
Later in March, the Malaga Festival: Films in Spanish runs March 15–24, showcasing contemporary Spanish-language cinema. Around the same time, the LPA Film Festival — Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival — will take place March 22–31, centered at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus and presenting a selection of national and international titles.
