Air France is adding a healthy meal choice to the dining options for premium-economy and economy passengers on long-haul flights departing from Paris (CDG). The new option becomes available from April 1 and can be selected in advance for an additional fee.
The healthy meal is one of six à la carte alternatives passengers can pre-select instead of the standard complimentary meal. The price for this option is €21 (or 7,000 Flying Blue miles). Other à la carte meals from Air France carry a surcharge ranging between €12 and €28 (4,000–8,500 Flying Blue miles), depending on the selection.
Each à la carte menu includes a starter, main course, cheese and dessert, and the offerings rotate with the seasons.
For the April–September period, the healthy menu features the following:
Starter: A duo of quinoa salad and soft white cheese seasoned with spices, accompanied by pickled radish and green asparagus tips dressed with olive oil.
Main: Grilled chicken flavored with thyme and rosemary, served with sauce vierge and a medley of green vegetables.
Cheese: Ash-coated goat’s cheese topped with a pumpkin seed crumble.
Dessert: Bourbon vanilla panna cotta paired with strawberry, red fruit and lime tartare.
From October through March, the menu will be updated to:
Starter: Lentil salad with balsamic vinegar, diced celery and carrot, red onion and preserved lemon zest pickle.
Main: Pollack in a mandarin sauce accompanied by a tangy yellow carrot and broccoli mousse.
Cheese: Fresh goat’s cheese served with a wholegrain mustard and honey green vinaigrette.
Dessert: Baked pear glazed with orange blossom honey over cottage cheese, accompanied by dried cranberries and crushed speculoos.
Passengers wishing to choose an à la carte meal can do so through the “Manage my booking” feature, starting 90 days and up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
