United Polaris customers traveling through San Francisco International (SFO) can now enjoy the newly opened United Polaris® lounge in the International Terminal near Gate G92. Designed with Bay Area influences, the lounge offers a refined, local atmosphere for both California-based and visiting travelers.
The two-level lounge spans more than 28,000 square feet and seats 440, offering 19 distinct seating configurations to suit different needs. Travelers can work or relax while keeping devices charged: the lounge provides 492 power outlets and 492 USB ports. The space is enhanced by eight artworks from prominent Bay Area artists, reinforcing a local aesthetic throughout.

Dining at the lounge centers on The Dining Room, a private, restaurant-style area featuring a menu by California chef Tritia Gestuvo. The menu blends international comfort foods—such as a traditional Chinese congee breakfast—with familiar favorites like the United Polaris burger. A bistro-style buffet complements the main dining with options including a ramen noodle bar and San Francisco–inspired specialties. A selection of Bay Area–inspired cocktails is available to accompany the meals.

Wellness amenities include five private daybeds outfitted with Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and eight premium shower suites featuring rainfall showers and Cowshed Spa products from Soho House & Co. Personal valet services are also offered to enhance the travel experience.
The United Polaris lounge reflects the broader goal of the United Polaris program: improving rest and comfort for long-haul travelers. United plans to continue expanding Polaris seating across its fleet, adding roughly one aircraft equipped with United Polaris seating every 10 days through 2020. Starting July 1, a cooling gel pillow will be provided at every seat. In addition, United now offers a pre-arrival dessert on flights leaving the U.S.: a white chocolate cranberry cookie from Christie Cookie Co.® in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earlier this month, the United Polaris lounge at Newark Liberty International (EWR) opened with design elements that capture the character of the New York metropolitan area. Additional United Polaris lounges are planned for 2018, including openings at Houston Intercontinental (IAH) in the summer and Los Angeles International (LAX) in the fall.
