Hyatt Expands in South America: New Hotels Coming to Peru and Chile

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to introduce the Hyatt Centric brand to South America with two new properties in Lima, Peru, and Santiago, Chile. Both hotels are expected to open in early 2018 and aim to place guests close to each city’s main attractions and business districts.

“Santiago and Lima are two of the main gateway cities in Latin America, and we are confident Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima and Hyatt Centric Las Condes Santiago will deliver on the brand’s commitment to put guests in the middle of the action and inspire them to explore these dynamic capital cities,” said George Vizer, vice president of franchise operations, Hyatt.

Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima will be situated on Avenida Basadre in the heart of the San Isidro district, one of Lima’s most upscale neighborhoods. The 254-room hotel will be surrounded by art galleries, boutique shops and many of the city’s top restaurants and bars, offering easy access to cultural and culinary experiences.

Hyatt Centric Las Condes Santiago is scheduled to open in February 2018 and will feature 166 guestrooms. Located in Santiago’s financial district, the property will cater to business travelers while providing convenient access to dining, shopping and city nightlife.

These South American openings expand the Hyatt Centric portfolio following recent launches in the region, including Hyatt Centric Guatemala City and Hyatt Centric Montevideo in Uruguay, reinforcing the brand’s focus on centrally located hotels that encourage exploration of local neighborhoods.
