American Express has announced it will open its first Centurion Lounge in Asia in the third quarter of 2017.
The new lounge will be located in Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport and will span more than 8,000 square feet. Designed with comfort and productivity in mind, the facility will feature a complimentary restaurant and bar served by a private chef, along with sommeliers and mixologists. Travelers will find shower suites, flat-screen TVs, and noise-buffering workstations, as well as high-speed WiFi, a business center and dedicated conference space.
“Hong Kong continues to be one of the top destinations for our card members, both outbound from China and as a gateway for international travelers,” said Janey Whiteside, senior vice president and general manager of global charge products, benefits and services at American Express.
Access to Centurion Lounges is an exclusive benefit for American Express Centurion and Platinum Card members. These cards already grant entry to a global network of more than 1,000 airport lounges across 120 countries. Existing Centurion Lounge locations include San Francisco (SFO), Las Vegas (LAS), Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK) and Seattle (SEA).
Beyond the Centurion network, eligible cardholders can use additional lounge programs, including international American Express lounges, Priority Pass Select, Airspace lounges, and Delta Sky Club when flying with Delta.
American Express also confirmed plans for a new Centurion Lounge in Terminal A West at Philadelphia International Airport. Additionally, the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport location—the current smallest Centurion Lounge—will undergo a significant expansion in the coming months to better serve travelers.
