They’re here — and prehistoric giants have returned to Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. After millions of years, a new Dinosaur Explore exhibition is now open within Stone Mountain, one of the state’s top attractions. The exhibit features 20 life-like dinosaurs representing 14 different species, combining dramatic displays with interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.
Highlights include an imposing Tyrannosaurus rex and towering brachiosauri that reach about 20 feet in height and measure roughly 33 feet from nose to tail. The exhibition also showcases a winged pteranodon, a formidable allosaurus, and a three-horned triceratops, among others. Each specimen is positioned to evoke natural behavior, giving guests a sense of scale and movement.
Dinosaur Explore goes beyond static displays. Families can visit a Dino Nursery where children can “feed” baby dinosaurs and learn about growth and care. At the Dinotorium, park rangers and educators offer engaging presentations on dinosaur habits, habitats, and paleontology basics, making the experience both entertaining and informative.
The exhibit is included with the daily Adventure Pass or accessible to those holding an annual Mountain Membership. Dinosaur Explore is available on days when park attractions are open, and scheduling may vary by season. The special exhibition runs through December 31, giving guests several months to plan a visit before the displays are taken down.
Stone Mountain Park’s Dinosaur Explore blends immersive visuals, hands-on activities, and educational programming to appeal to curious visitors, families, and school groups. Whether you’re drawn by the roar of a T. rex or the gentle giant presence of a brachiosaurus, the exhibit offers a memorable way to experience prehistoric life recreated with modern presentation and interpretation.
