Virgin America Launches New Nonstop Flights Between San Francisco and Hawaii

Virgin America this month inaugurated nonstop service between San Francisco International Airport and Honolulu International Airport with a Hawaiian-themed celebration. To mark the new route, Terminal 2 at San Francisco International was transformed into a tropical setting as Virgin America and Airbnb hosted a luau featuring hula dancers, island-inspired music, and Mai Tais. Airbnb created a Hawaiian hale experience that allowed travelers to sample fresh fruit and juice, receive giveaways, and enjoy Hawaiian oils, creams, and body mist before boarding.

In addition to the Honolulu route, Virgin America plans to begin service between San Francisco and Kahului Airport on Maui on Dec. 3. Both routes will be served by new aircraft that offer three custom-designed classes of service, individual touch-screen entertainment, and an on-demand food and cocktail menu available on every flight.
