American Express Updates Gold Card With New and Expanded Benefits

American Express has announced enhancements to its Gold Card, introducing expanded travel benefits and improved everyday rewards for cardmembers.

The refreshed Gold Card now offers expanded access to The Hotel Collection, a signature program from American Express Travel. The collection exceeds 1,000 properties worldwide and this year added more than 300 new hotels across 50 destinations, including Tuscany, Italy; Moab, Utah; and Sapporo, Japan.

When booking two or more consecutive nights through American Express Travel, Gold Cardmembers are eligible for a complimentary property credit of $100, a room upgrade upon arrival when available, and priority early check-in and late check-out subject to availability. These benefits are designed to enhance the stay experience and add tangible value for travelers.

The Gold Card’s dining and everyday perks have also been expanded. Cardmembers can receive up to $100 in annual statement credits ($50 semi-annually) when using an enrolled Gold Card at eligible U.S. Resy restaurants, on Resy.com and via the Resy mobile app. New cardmembers can also earn up to $84 per year in statement credits at participating Dunkin locations nationwide.

American Express has added Five Guys to the existing $120 Dining Credit, which already includes participating partners such as Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, wine.com and Goldbelly. These credits provide practical value for frequent diners and help offset the card’s annual cost for those who use them.

Beyond travel and dining, the U.S. Consumer Gold Card continues to deliver everyday value. Cardmembers who add the Gold Card to their Uber account receive $10 in monthly Uber Cash (up to $120 annually) to use on Uber Eats or Uber rides within the United States. Rewards rates remain compelling for regular spending: earn 4x Membership Rewards points at restaurants worldwide, including takeout and delivery in the U.S., on up to $50,000 in purchases per year; 4x points at U.S. supermarkets; 3x points on flights booked directly with airlines or at amextravel.com; 2x points on prepaid hotels, car rentals and cruises booked on amextravel.com; and 1x points on other eligible purchases.

These updates position the Gold Card as a stronger option for travelers and diners who value hotel perks, flexible dining credits and elevated rewards on everyday spending. Cardmembers who frequently book travel through American Express Travel or who regularly dine out and order delivery may find the expanded benefits particularly useful.
