This past summer, the team at 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin celebrated the hotel’s 11th birthday with a party for 1,000 guests. The anniversary was also a milestone because the hotel finally completed renovations that had been on-and-off for the past decade.

Berlin-based Studio Aisslinger led the redesign, delivering a thoughtful and cohesive refresh that preserves the hotel’s beloved character and appeal to international travelers.
All Large Urban and Large Jungle rooms received a complete redesign. Beds were moved to the center of the room, creating a frontal orientation that frames distinctive views of the Tiergarten and the Berlin City West neighborhood.

Playful details remain: bathtubs still function as Bluetooth speakers. Each Large room now includes a wooden library capsule that provides a cozy retreat for reading, relaxing and dreaming, reinforcing 25hours Hotels’ connection to tactile, analogue experiences.
“Even today, 11 years after it opened, there are still queues on the street every evening to get into the Monkey Bar or the NENI restaurant on the 10th floor,” said Werner Aisslinger, designer. “Everyone involved is committed to maintaining this cult status, ensuring design optimizations and new concepts keep the hotel unique and popular.”
All Medium rooms — Medium Jungle, Medium Urban and Medium Urban Twin — were also renovated. The update includes a modern integrated lighting concept with light sources built into mirrors and new swivel lamps, while bathrooms received focused attention during the overhaul.

Bathrooms were brightened with new tiles and warmer, cozy lighting. A standout element of the project was an upcycling collaboration with a premium bathroom manufacturer: the hotel’s disused shower trays and bathtubs were recycled, technically upgraded and reinstalled, giving these elements a second life in the refreshed bathrooms.
Public areas also received significant updates to better serve guests and locals alike.
“After eleven years, we wanted something new and decided to refresh the entire hotel,” said Francesca Schiano, general manager of 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, who was the hotel’s first employee. “Besides the reading corners, the third floor is now my favorite spot. We opened the Nomad Day Bar there, offering healthy daytime choices like breakfast bowls, salads, smoothies, juices and banana bread. In the evening, the space near reception turns into a neighborhood wine bar. Guests can enjoy the hotel’s legendary pastrami sandwiches alongside hearty snacks such as olives and baked goat’s cheese.”

The hotel is a popular daytime coworking spot, supported by a large new community table and several work areas. Evenings offer a relaxed bar atmosphere with a fireplace and hammocks, providing an inviting alternative to the lively scene at Monkey Bar on the 10th floor. A varied monthly program — including workshops, comedy nights, quizzes, readings and small-format concerts — attracts both guests and neighborhood residents.
Located in central Berlin, this 4-star hotel is within walking distance of many attractions and public transport options, and it also offers on-site parking.
