JetBlue is expanding its Boston (BOS) operations by more than 40 percent, increasing to 200 peak-day departures and adding a new nonstop route to Atlanta (ATL) beginning March 30, 2017. This growth reflects strong demand from Boston travelers and JetBlue’s commitment to offer competitive service and more nonstop destinations than any other carrier at the airport, according to Marty St. George, executive vice president of commercial and planning for JetBlue.
Atlanta becomes the airline’s 63rd nonstop destination from Boston, making JetBlue the largest carrier operating from BOS. Following the Atlanta launch, JetBlue will also offer connections from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), New York (JFK) and Orlando (ORL). An Airbus A320 will serve the Boston–Atlanta route, with five daily departures from Boston at 6:10 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 1:10 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:55 p.m.
In addition to the Atlanta service, JetBlue plans to increase premium offering between Boston and the West Coast. Starting July 15, 2017, a fourth daily Mint flight will be added on the Boston–San Francisco (SFO) route. Mint, JetBlue’s premium cabin, will be available on every Boston flight to San Francisco and Los Angeles (LAX) beginning Sept. 21, 2016, and Nov. 18, 2016, respectively, expanding options for customers seeking a higher level of comfort and service on transcontinental routes.
Seasonal routes that previously operated for part of the year are also being extended. Service between Boston and Montego Bay (MBJ) and Boston and St. Thomas (STT) will move from seasonal to year-round operations, offering travelers more consistent options to these leisure destinations throughout the calendar.
