British Airways Adds More Weekly Flights From London to Key Routes

It’s been a busy summer for British Airways.

The airline has added two transatlantic services to its summer 2018 Gatwick (LGW) schedule: three weekly flights to Toronto (YYZ) starting May 1 and three weekly flights to Las Vegas (LAS) starting March 27. The Las Vegas service was introduced in response to strong demand at Heathrow (LHR).

Sean Doyle, Director of Networks and Alliances at British Airways, said, “Gatwick has always offered a great range of long-haul destinations, but adding Toronto and Las Vegas to the summer schedule will take the number of transatlantic routes to 21, making Canada, the United States and the Caribbean more accessible than ever before.”

The Toronto route marks the airline’s first service to Canada from Gatwick and follows the recent launch of new long-haul connections to Oakland (OAK) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

In addition to the Gatwick expansion, British Airways announced new services from London City Airport (LCY) to three European capitals starting in October: Paris (CDG), Prague (PRG) and Reykjavik (KEF).

The Reykjavik route will operate as a winter-only service, while flights to Granada, Spain (GRX) will remain a summer-only offering and are scheduled to resume next year.
