Princess Cruises marks its 50th year of Alaska voyages with its largest deployment to date for the 2019 season, including the first Alaska sailing by Royal Princess. Bookings for the 2019 Alaska season go on sale tomorrow.
In 2019 seven Princess ships will operate in Alaska, with more than three-quarters of those sailings offering visits to Glacier Bay National Park. The line will offer more than 23 cruise-tour combinations that pair cruises with stays at Princess Wilderness Lodges and access to Denali National Park. The season also introduces a unique treehouse accommodation at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge.
“Our upcoming 2019 Alaska season marks our 50th year taking guests to this bucket-list destination, which for many is a life-changing experience filled with breathtaking scenery and awe-inspiring moments,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. “In 1969, Princess Italia carried 525 passengers to Alaska. In 2019, we’ll mark another milestone by deploying Royal Princess — the largest ship we’ve sent to the region — carrying more than 3,500 guests.”
The 2019 Alaska program includes the popular Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary, which sails between Vancouver and Whittier. This seven-day voyage features two glacier-viewing opportunities and a visit to Glacier Bay National Park. Princess also offers Inside Passage sailings on seven-, 10- and 12-day itineraries departing from Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The available cruise-tour packages typically combine a seven-day Voyage of the Glaciers cruise with three- to eight-night stays at Princess Wilderness Lodges, providing a seamless mix of shipboard cruising and inland lodge experiences near Denali National Park.
Princess guests who hold elite Captain’s Circle status will have the opportunity to book one day early, beginning December 13. Additionally, passengers in North America, Asia and Australia can take advantage of a limited-time promotion offering 50 percent off 2019 voyage deposits through April 30, 2018.
