Air Canada Becomes First Foreign Carrier to Offer TSA Pre✓ at U.S. Airports

Air Canada now offers electronic boarding passes for customers departing from airports in the United States. This enhancement simplifies check-in and boarding and improves access to TSA Pre✓, the expedited security screening program. Eligible travelers benefit from dedicated lanes and reduced screening procedures, helping frequent flyers move through security more quickly.

“For frequent business travelers TSA Pre✓ is attractive because many already have Nexus or other recognized security documents to qualify,” said Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines, Air Canada.

The electronic boarding pass option is available now or coming soon at all 52 U.S. airports served by Air Canada. Travelers can complete web or mobile check-in and receive their boarding pass by email or text message. Those who check in on a smartphone can also access their boarding pass directly on their device. Importantly, customers eligible for TSA Pre✓ no longer need to print a boarding pass at an Air Canada counter or kiosk to use the expedited security lanes.

This change reduces the need for paper documents at the airport and streamlines the travel experience. Passengers should ensure their boarding pass is accessible on their phone, either as a downloadable file or within the airline’s mobile wallet, and verify that their device is charged before reaching security checkpoints. As always, travelers should carry any required identity documents and ensure their TSA Pre✓ status is correctly linked to their reservation.

By expanding electronic boarding pass availability across its U.S. network, Air Canada aims to make travel faster and more convenient for customers, particularly those who frequently travel for business and already participate in trusted traveler programs.
