Hyatt Regency New York – Times Square Hotel & Booking Guide

Arrival/Check-In: I arrived at Hyatt Times Square New York on a busy Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. The lobby was lively and the reception area appeared chaotic at first, but the check-in moved along efficiently. Staff were friendly and helpful, which made the brief wait more pleasant.

Guest Quarters: The hotel spans 54 stories with nearly 500 guestrooms, many offering sweeping Manhattan views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Each floor feels intimate, with only 11 rooms per level. My 350-square-foot room featured two queen beds with bedside nightstands and built-in lighting. Opposite the beds was a long combined dresser, TV stand and desk with a large flat-screen TV above, plenty of outlets, a small refrigerator and a coffeemaker. An ergonomic desk chair provided comfortable workspace, and a small table with a Pop Art–inspired chair sat by the window.

The room’s city-themed artwork stood out, particularly a large canvas above the desk filled with quotes from New Yorkers describing what they love about their neighborhoods. That personal touch added character and made the space feel connected to the city.

The bathroom, finished in black marble, included a roomy rainfall shower that felt indulgent. The overall bathroom layout provided ample room for getting ready, and a closet near the entrance offered useful storage space.

Services/Amenities: Hyatt Has It is a convenient program that lets guests borrow complimentary items during their stay, and the hotel also provides free in-room bottled water and Wi-Fi. For fitness and relaxation, there is a 24-hour gym and a 4,200-square-foot spa, which together offer a welcome wellness balance amid Times Square’s energy. Nearly 3,000 square feet of meeting space includes a sizable terrace suitable for outdoor gatherings.

On my visit the rooftop Bar54 Lounge was closed for a private event, so I couldn’t experience the 54th-floor views firsthand, though it was clear the space is popular. At lobby level, T45 offers classic American comfort dishes with a twist and provides a to-go menu for guests on the move.

The Experience: With theater tickets and a dinner reservation during my stay, the Hyatt Times Square New York proved to be an ideal choice for a one-night visit. Its location is convenient to Times Square theaters and restaurants while being just removed enough to avoid the most intense crowds. The hotel’s proximity to Penn Station also made departure easy. Combined with thoughtful amenities, distinct design touches and welcoming staff, the hotel is a strong option for a Manhattan stay.
