Montage Beverly Hills Hotel: Luxury Stays, Dining & Spa Guide

Arrival/Check-In: I appreciate a hotel entrance with a circular drive; it turns an ordinary arrival into a small event. My arrival at Montage Beverly Hills was exactly that. When the cab pulled up, the valet promptly opened the door and a bellman retrieved my bag. Within minutes I was in the bright, stylish lobby and soon on my way to the room.

Guest Quarters: My 625-square-foot junior suite with a small balcony overlooking Beverly Canon Gardens felt bright and airy, decorated in tones of rose beige and cream. French-style folding doors with sheer curtains separated the bedroom from the sitting area. The king-sized bed was flanked by bedside tables, with a settee bench at the foot. Two large flat-screen televisions—one in the bedroom and one in the sitting area—provided entertainment options. The sitting area included an L-shaped sleeper sofa that converted to a queen bed. Opposite the seating, an expansive desk provided abundant outlets and wired connectivity for work. Control panels for lighting, temperature and draperies were available in both the sitting area and the bedroom. The marble bathroom featured a soaking tub, a separate shower and a dual vanity, and it was well stocked with bath amenities.

Services/Amenities: Service throughout my stay was excellent. I made good use of the hotel’s chauffeur-driven Mercedes-Benz courtesy cars for meetings and events around Los Angeles. I didn’t get the chance to visit the hotel’s 20,000-square-foot spa or the rooftop pool, but I did stop by the on-site Kim Vō salon for hair and makeup. There I discovered that some regulars schedule business trips around salon appointments. Colleagues and I also enjoyed a pleasant alfresco lunch at the Conservatory Grille.

The Experience: Situated amid the world-class shopping and dining of Rodeo and Canon drives, and roughly 30 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport when traffic allows, Montage Beverly Hills manages to feel like a private oasis despite its central location.
