Pullman Hotel & Conference Center Opens in Sydney’s Penrith Suburb

Accor hotel group’s new 153-room Pullman Sydney Penrith, part of the Western Sydney Conference Centre, opened in August 2023 and introduced Penrith’s first five-star hotel. The property features generous conference and events facilities, a dedicated wellness and fitness centre, and the upscale European-inspired Marcel Bar & Bistro.

With the new Western Sydney International Airport scheduled to open in 2026 and billions of dollars in infrastructure investment underway, including the $71 million Panthers district development, Penrith is poised for significant growth in both leisure and business travel. The hotel sits within easy reach of major projects that will further boost the suburb’s profile, and the airport will be roughly a 15-minute drive away once completed.

The hotel’s central location makes it a convenient base for visitors exploring greater Sydney, the nearby Blue Mountains and coastal areas. It is well positioned for conference delegates and leisure travellers alike, offering direct access to the region’s attractions and business precincts.

The building’s ribbon-like form draws inspiration from the nearby Nepean River. Inside, polished metal ceiling panels under the roof catch and reflect light, while landscaping focuses on native species: the site includes more than 75 trees and about 8,000 plants maintained with sustainable watering practices.

Executive Chef Colin Chun leads the culinary direction for Pullman Sydney Penrith and the Western Sydney Conference Centre. On the first floor, reached via a sweeping central staircase, Marcel Bar & Bistro presents a Bauhaus-inspired interior in primary colours and clean shapes. The restaurant showcases modern European cuisine that highlights locally sourced produce. Adjacent to the dining room is a curated wine cellar where guests can consult with sommeliers and select bottles. Marcel pays tribute to Marcel Breuer, the acclaimed architect whose only Australian building is heritage-listed in Penrith.

Tori, the hotel’s modern lobby bar, serves all-day light bites and coffee from local roasters alongside pastries for breakfast. In the evenings the space transitions to a live-music venue and drinks destination.

Guestrooms are stocked with natural skincare amenities from Australian brand Hunter Lab, Nespresso coffee machines and minibars featuring local products. Rooms also offer programmable ambience options—pre-set combinations of background sounds, colours and lighting to suit sleep or wake-up routines.
