Avis introduced an industry-first mobile app that puts nearly every aspect of the rental process into the customer’s hands, reducing paperwork, wait times and common hassles. The app enables users to confirm, cancel or extend a reservation and to select a vehicle from real-time availability with just a few swipes.
When choosing a car, the app displays each vehicle’s exact mileage and fuel level at pickup, making it easy to compare condition at return. While driving, customers can lock or unlock the car and even flash the vehicle’s lights directly from their phone for added convenience and peace of mind. These remote controls streamline everyday needs and reduce the need for staff assistance.
One of the most valuable features is the drop-and-go return. Busy travelers can return the vehicle to the lot, follow a few steps in the app, and leave without waiting in line. This contactless return process saves time and simplifies the end of the rental.
