Air Canada Expands Routes and Services in Brazil

Air Canada will expand its Brazilian network with new non-stop service between Toronto and Rio de Janeiro beginning this December. The airline plans to operate three weekly roundtrips between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Rio de Janeiro–Galeão – Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport starting Dec. 11. Flights will use Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, which include 24 lie-flat seats in business class.

With the new service, Rio de Janeiro becomes Air Canada’s second non-stop destination in Brazil alongside São Paulo (GRU). The airline highlights Rio’s combination of iconic landmarks, vibrant culture and business activity. Known for attractions such as Sugarloaf Mountain and the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana, Rio is also a host city for major international events and a commercial center for global corporations.

Air Canada’s expansion aims to provide travelers with direct access between Canada and Rio de Janeiro, simplifying travel for leisure visitors attending Carnival, beachgoers, and business travelers connecting with corporate partners in Brazil. The addition of lie-flat business-class seats reflects the carrier’s effort to offer a comfortable, long-haul product on this transcontinental route.

Service frequency, schedules and fares will be available through Air Canada’s booking channels. Travelers should check the carrier’s official site or contact customer service for the latest details on flight times, baggage allowances and any travel requirements that may apply.
